Why Our Bids Are 30+ Pages Long

Most contractors hand you a one-page bid with five line items: Demo, Plumbing, Tile, Vanity, Labor — $40,000. That is how you end up with change orders and gray areas. Our bid lists fixtures by model number, electrical locations, tile quantities, and scope details line by line so homeowners understand exactly what they are buying before the project begins.

Workmanship Guarantee

Center Home Improvement in-house crew on a La Jolla bathroom remodel project

Every La Jolla bathroom we remodel is backed by a clear workmanship guarantee. If an issue shows up that’s due to our workmanship within one year of completion, we’ll come back, fix it, and make it right at no additional cost to you.

The Difference Between a Shower You Survive and One You Enjoy

Waterproofing failures are one of the most expensive bathroom problems homeowners deal with after a remodel. Every shower we build gets a full hot-mop waterproofing system, installed by our own crew and documented at every layer, so the finished shower is protected for the long haul.

Do it different. Make it unforgettable.

The Difference Between a Remodel You Survive and One You Enjoy

Got questions about your bathroom remodel? We’ve got answers! Here are some common inquiries we receive from our clients in La Jolla.
  • What does a luxury bathroom remodel cost in La Jolla?

The final cost depends on the size of the room, the age of the home, and the level of finishes you choose. A straightforward guest bathroom with quality tile, fixtures, and a new vanity prices very differently than a primary suite with custom tile, slab or stone, a large walk‑in shower, glass, specialty lighting, and built‑in storage.

After a site visit, we put together a detailed written scope that breaks down what is included so you can see where your investment is going before you say yes.

  • What factors affect the cost of a La Jolla bathroom remodel?

    Key drivers of cost are:

    Changing plumbing or electrical locations

Tile selection and layout (large format, mosaics, custom patterns)

Type of shower system and glass

    Vanity, countertop, and storage details

Age and condition of existing plumbing, framing, and subfloor

Any structural changes or repairs needed after demo

During our walkthrough we talk through these decisions with you, explain the cost impact in plain English, and design a scope that fits your priorities and budget.

  • How long will my bathroom be out of service during the remodel?

Once work begins, most full bathroom remodels take about 2.5–3 weeks of active construction time, assuming all selections are finalized and key materials are on site. During that window, you should plan on the bathroom being out of service.

Before we start, we confirm a realistic schedule, walk you through what happens each week, and coordinate any special needs (kids, guests, work‑from‑home, limited number of bathrooms) so the disruption is as low as possible.

  • Do I need permits for a bathroom remodel in La Jolla?

It depends on the scope. If your project involves significant changes to plumbing, electrical, mechanical, or structural elements, permits are typically required under the City of San Diego. More cosmetic updates that do not alter those systems may not.

When we review your project, we’ll let you know whether permits or inspections are needed, and we can coordinate that process for you when it applies.

  • Can you work with my interior designer on the bathroom design?

Yes. We regularly partner with interior designers and are happy to collaborate with yours. Your designer leads the vision, materials, and overall look; we focus on what’s feasible in the space, how to build it correctly, and how to keep the project on schedule and on budget.

We communicate directly with your designer on technical details so you don’t have to play middleman.

  • Can you help me choose tile, stone, fixtures, lighting, and other finishes?

If you don’t have a designer, we can still help you make confident selections. We’ll narrow options based on the style of your home, your maintenance preferences, and your budget.

We talk through tile types, grout lines, shower systems, vanities, countertops, lighting, hardware, and glass so the finished space feels cohesive and timeless, not like a collection of random choices.

  • What luxury bathroom upgrades are worth considering for my La Jolla home?

Popular upgrades our La Jolla clients love include:

    • Larger walk‑in or curbless showers
    • Frameless glass and upgraded shower systems
    • Heated floors under tile
    • Custom vanities and better storage
    • Layered lighting with dimmers
    • High‑quality fixtures and hardware
    • We’ll help you decide which features make the most sense for how you actually use the space, so you get daily enjoyment rather than just a long product list.
  • How do you protect my home from dust, debris, and damage during construction?

Protecting your home is a non‑negotiable for us. Before work starts, we:

    • Cover floors along our path with protective board or plastic
    • Set up dust barriers and zipper walls where needed
    • Protect nearby furnishings and surfaces
    • Plan material access and trash removal to minimize mess
    • During the project, our crews clean up daily, remove debris regularly, and keep clear walking paths so your home stays as orderly and safe as possible.
  • What happens if you find water damage, old plumbing, or structural issues once you start?

No surprise charges. We are fully capable of handling "surprises" behind walls due to how our company is structured. With 90% of those types of situations, it would be serviced or fixed in-house which makes it a time & material addition to the scope, however, it is not worth it to us to charge you more than the original scope & contract. This is of course excluding obvious requests to expand the scope of work, which is subject to change orders.

  • Who manages my bathroom remodel day to day, and how often will I get updates?

You’ll have a single main point of contact for your project. That person coordinates the schedule, trades, inspections (if needed), and day‑to‑day details.

We provide regular updates so you always know what’s happening next, who will be on site, and what decisions (if any) are needed from you. Our goal is for the process to feel organized, predictable, and well‑communicated from start to finish.
